With the AFL finishing up and the A League starting up, there has been a lot of smack talking on the Internet from die hard fans from one or the other... Personally, AFL doesn't do it for me, unlike the A League, I have been to AFL games and it has not inspired any passion in me, for football it was love at first site... But I can absolutely appreciate that people love to watch and play it, we can't all like the same thing! Imagine if we did, memberships would be harder to get for a start... It's a bit like religion, well a lot like religion, I feel like everyone should be able to respect each others passions, doesn't have to be a fight...
Last night Marley and Mace had their first AFL experience... My cute little ones playing in the garden with their big cousins, both trying to kick it like a football, no hands! Haha... Ultimately, while I would be ecstatic if both of my babies fell in love with the round ball like we have, to watch and play, I will just be happy that they love to play anything, should their passion and talent lay somewhere else...
Life switched up with kids, sneakers, fashion, films, food, music, art, a-league in Melbourne...

Carlton Football Club at Open House: Emerald Hill Missions Wednesday breakfast
This morning, like every Wednesday morning I hauled arse into work to feed the local hungry people... I was pre warned that 10 or so dudes from the Carlton Football Club would be joining us, to get a look at how the 'other half lives'... I'm always against these types of things... I don't like my clients to have people with money around because it just highlights what they don't have, I fear that any publicity would stop our service being an anonymous service and I overall stress about anyone new coming into the yard...
When they rocked up I felt that I had shrunk to about 2ft tall, these geezers were HUGE! But surprisingly they were really nice... Really interested in the work we do, the clients we serve and how they could help... I'm sure that when we opened the gates they looked intimidating, and one of our clients asked whether they were cops, haha... But overall it went really well... Didn't get any pics outside as I was overseeing the players serving our food, but here is a couple of Bob talking to them about the work we do...

*if anyone knows any of these dudes names please let me know because that's the first question everyone asks every time I mention their involvement!

AFL: Geelong v Collingwood: MCG
AFL
Geelong V Collingwood
MCG
So this was my first adult football game, and Marks first ever... I have a vague memory of going when I was 8 or so, but cant be sure of details... It wasn't as cold as I expected which was a pleasant surprise... Geelong members (of which we were seated with) were seriously outnumbered, though after winning 9 games in a row I at least expected to be dazzled by the close score... This was not to be... Geelong were slaughtered... I was however dazzled by the violence, so much tackling, body slamming etc... That kept me on the edge of my seat more then anything else... After our adventures with baseball and basketball in the US I was hoping to like it more, while it was quite entertaining (until the gap between scores became so wide I completely lost interest) I can't see it becoming a life choice... Big up to Dana and Trav for sorting us out with some dope seating, felt like we were on the field which was cool...
Trying the 'real' football next week Victory vs Juventus at Telstra Dome, maybe that will suck me in...
