This morning we went to Union Square, there was a farmers market on which we walked through… It was nice to see fresh local produce in the city! Bought loads at Babies R Us, checked Filenes basement which was a bit random this time and the other stores around, then off to Chat N Chew for lunch, we love it here… Chat N Chew was awesome as expected, we both ordered the Mac and Cheese and it was yum! Marley was eating the Mac with us she loved it too! This place is a must visit!
Headed up Broadway shopping as we went, some great stuff in Forbidden Planet, though its not really pram friendly so we tag teamed Marley… Went east to the New Era store which was awesome! Bought a cap and it came boxed and bagged, on to Alife, Classic Kicks etc… Not much to buy so we went back to footlocker in Times Square in hope of getting a pair of Blazers for Mark, they didn’t have his size…
Back to our room and we realise that we need to get some laundry done ASAP, the staff at RCA tell us where to go 8th and 48/49th so we get our laundry done over night… Back to our room and we order Johns Pizza, massive yummy pizzas!!!

The shopping begins, we strapped Marley into her pram and walked to Herald Square, shopped up and down 33rd St starting with Macys... Macys provided some beautiful children’s clothes for Marley, and we spent so long there that her lunchtime came, we bolted to McDonalds as it was a convenient spot to feed her and refuel ourselves... Back to shopping, H&M, GAP, Footlocker, keeping on all the way to Fifth Ave and up that street... The highlight was FAO Schwartz where we spent a long time checking out toys for Marley, we ordered her ‘whatnot’ then shopped around, finding a few bits ad pieces for her, picking up our ‘whatnot’ and continuing on... The other shops didn’t hold much for us, and we were holding out for Nike Town, but alas there wasn’t much there either... Walked around Trump Towers, back out onto Fifth and eventually home... To start a trend for our trip in NYC we ordered in, once Marley was in bed, it was pretty good, and clear that you really get bang for your buck when ordering in!

We had a lovely sunny spring Sunday in the city... Checking out the usual stores Carharrt, Minotaur, Footlocker (nice to meet you the legacy, small freakin world), Provider (where there was an expectation to see one SF, but ran into xdrift instead, nice to see you :) ), Hype DC, the Myer basement where there are many sales to be had, but I don't fit into anything anymore so it was just looking for me... Dropped into Federation Square to check their exhibits and got a look at the Nepal festival, then a couple of good pieces inside, unfortunately the varied scents of fed sq over powered the art work, and so we left... Lunch at MoVida which I will review separately, and after many hours of walking the city we went home just as the rain started...

This store has a great range, and that is about all that there is positive to say about it, the stock is in shambles, there were literally socks strewn across the cashier area that we had to stand in to get service, the staff are disorderly, and don’t seem to know where they are supposed to be… When you finally do get service which you are desperately hoping for seeing as though there are 5 staff behind the counter and only 1 is serving, they don’t seem to know about their products or have access to their own registers… Overall a shady experience, do not recommend it…

A ladies footlocker brings a smile to my face as I feel that ladies that aren’t extremely feminine aren’t well catered for in this city… So I cruise into Footlocker looking for some trainers for gym and see what I want, get served immediately and am pretty happy with that… Then the staff member says I can get half off a second item, so we quickly settled on a Nike holdall as we needed an extra bag for luggage purposes and the deal was done… My kind of service, advice and the right price!

Another bright and early morning with an amazing amount of sun... By ten we were ready to eat a proper breakfast, made our way to Cowgirl, it was closed, walked up to Pastis, it was closed, breakfast doesn’t start until 11!!! Crazy, I was starving but determined so we walked around the village until 11 and went back to Cowgirl… We were the only ones in there, so the staff were very attentive and helpful… We started with drinks and I have to mention that the apple juice was especially yummy, and it was served out of a jam jar (see photos)! For breakfast I ordered the BLT with egg and avocado, and Mark ordered the omelette… When it came it looked soooo good! The eggs came on the side, and there was also a generous serving of home fries and coleslaw, marks looked pretty good too, but mine was by far the prettiest, hehe… So we begin, I was absolutely delighted by the taste of this BLT, it was amazing, I’m not just saying that, I put the eggs in the sandwich and they had been poached to perfection, I really only needed half of what I had on my plate so the home fries went to Mark… Anyways I will continue the review in the review section, but it was good, well worth going to…

And on we went to shop all of Broadway and do Soho… These shops, though lovely and boutiquey, didn’t provide what I was looking for… In fact all day I only bought a pair of trainers for gym and nothing for fun (not to say that gym isn’t fun, just a hard intense sweaty fun, not a laid back fun)!!! We dropped our stuff home and went up to Times Square as Mark wanted to get some photos, which he did… We dropped into Times Square Footlocker which had THE WORST SERVICE EVER, do not go there… we waited forever to get some service and then it still took forever for her to actually serve us... ouch…

After that I was ready to rest as we had a show to go to… So we came home, snoozed, and got ready for the Big Shug, Cormega show at the Knitting Factory… This venue is crazy, I was expecting these artists to be playing to a large room full up, but it was a tiny room, very intimate, and great for this type of show… It filled up, and though the first act ‘Affiliate’ was crapola, rapping to his own vocals, big Shug KILLED IT! Was very impressed, and after he was done I was also tired so we came home to get some sleep for another big day awaits us tomorrow…
