'As Summer slowly closes and Fall gets close, Nike iD Studios around the world are launching their Fall 2008 sneakers, material and color options. They include the Dunk High, Dunk Low, Nike Cortez and the Air Max 90. Continuing it’s dominance as the one of Nike Sportswear’s Icons, the Air Max 90 gets a fresh renewal in colors and three new options for the toebox, tongue and lining. Premium leathers are back with up to twelve colors to choose from, including the three hot colors of the Olymics, gold, silver and bronze distressed metallics are available. For fabrics, three options are available, mesh is back in three colors - black, white and grey. The second option is a floral jaquard (on the Air Max 90 above) in several colors. The third is a “hero” option, which is a graphic inspired by Chinese hurdler Liu Xiang (seen on the design below) available for use on the toebox, upper heel, tongue and lining. Unfortunately, Liu Xiang pulled out of the Olympics due to an injury but is arguably one of the best track stars in the world as he previously was the reigning Olympic and world champion. When this show came to Australian TV a few years ago I was mildly interested, but was of the mind that anything this good wouldn't make it to free to air TV... I was wrong...

Like most HBO shows it has its own distinct flavour, set in a time and place that we are all aware of, but which might lead us to believe that it might just be a historically accurate portrayal of the time... It is so much more, focusing on the relationships as well as the politics of the time, bringing that HBO real feeling to it, you don't feel educated as such, you feel completely entertained, attached to the characters and have a desire to know what is going to happen next...

We watched both seasons in a couple of weeks and am now a bit disgruntled that there is no more, no third season, no film... If you are in to other HBO shows chances are that you will like this...

Being a fan of Superbad and Knocked Up I had relatively high expectations from this film... Unfortunately it didn't meet them... As promised it was a stoner action flick, there was loads of weed and a good amount of guns... A bit slow in the beginning, at one point I was so bored I considered leaving, and then it got a bit more intense so I stayed...

Fair performances by the actors, it just didn't feel as funny as it could have been, which was a shame... I don't really have much to say about it, except that you should wait for the DVD release...

Big ups to everyone who passed through – we had a healthy turnout, and the heads seemed to be enjoying the exclusively UK tracks that Mexi, Kamo and I were spinning, so that’s a good look.

I was late arriving, after having been double-booked – Corrie and I had been at the Chris Rock No Apologies show at Hisense Arena, so were running a little behind time – but by the time we reached the Workshop Bar, it seemed as though Mexi had already got the crowd eating out of his hands. It was good to see a whole heap of support for British Hip Hop and Grime, and made me feel like I was back in London – good stuff.

A special big up goes to Mexi for all his hard work getting the night set-up and of course our sponsors for the night, Addict (cheers for the shirts and record bags), Soul Jazz and Inertia, I hope we can turn this into a regular thing.

I have to comment on this show... Created by Tina Fey the 'star' of the show (amongst other 'stars' that she works with) is the head writer on a sketch comedy show 'TGS with Tracey Jordan', who played by Tracey Morgan, is a hilarious character with classic one liners that have me giggling the next day on the way to work... The main highlight for me is Kenneth, who irritated me at first, but is now clearly my favourite played by Jack McBrayer (Forgetting Sarah Marshall)... All in all a great cast inluding Alec Baldwin, Jane Krakowski, Scott Adsit, Judah Friedlander, Katrina Bowden, Keith Powell, Lonny Ross and loads of special guest stars... Funny story lines, a one camera set up which makes it feel a little real and the wonderful NYC as a backdrop... Am deeply considering doing the NBC tour at Rockefeller centre when we go back next year!

Series returns October 30th, you best get on the d/l to get up to speed before then!

I never classified myself as a geek until I started buying graphic novels... Some who know me well might think anyone who knows as much about BTVS or Angel as I do was defined as a geek many years ago, others may argue that when you start buying the watchers guides to every episode that that is the line, but to me that was all just being an enthusiast... Watching for release dates of graphic novels is something I would say is geeky, and if that's the case then its official, I am what I am...

The second volume in season 8 by Brian K Vaughan, Georges Jeanty and Joss Whedon... This installment brings all the drama of a big budget episode with all of your (or my) favourite characters, if anything it is just too hard to put it down from start to end and you are left wanting the next installment... The book keeps the characters exactly as they are, and its good to see the dark humour isn't lost to paper... Could live without the Dawn arc is season 8, they really just should have let her die at the end of season 5... All that's left to do now is wait, this is the problem with not having weekly installments...

I will start at the beginning, we arrived mad early to this, waiting is something I am used to, but I hate... With an 8pm start planned, at quarter past the support act came on first, Mario Joyner... I was a little surprised, I didn't think Chris needed an opener, but in any case I was blown away by Mario... Some truly funny jokes about the flight over, and obvious lack of black people over here, which Chris would later follow up on... He could really hold the audience, and did for his half hour set... If he is ever around you should check him out!

Chris graced the stage with a bang... A few Australia jokes, some made me laugh and some made me cringe, jokes about what Australians have done to its indigenous people just aren't funny to me... I did feel similarly when he was joking about lynchings later, ouch... He made some funny jokes about the politics of the US at the moment, killed it about John McCain, Hilary Clinton, Barack Obama and his wife...

He talked about he had to be careful to do a good show because Britneys kids were taken away after one bad show, although they dont usually do that with black kids - look at Bobby and Whitneys kids! Then continued about the disgrace of rich kids and his fears for his own kids, who are rich...

He talked alot about the N word, let us white people in on the one time we are allowed to drop the N bomb, which was hilarious, and it did feel that he was winding up the show on this high note, unfortunately the low light was that he didn't and kept on with the differences between men and women... Also including some chat about marriage, there were definitely funny moments, but overall the jokes about men just wanting to get laid and women just wanting money (pussy has a price but dick is free) felt a bit old news to me...

Overall I was really impressed, laughed my arse off and would be happy to see him again should he return on his next tour!
